Cultural Participation in Museum II: From Companion Apps to VR Headsets – Cooperation Meeting in Bremerhaven

On 20 April 2026, the partners involved in the “Cultural Participation in Museums II” project – Lebenshilfe Bremerhaven, Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences and the German Maritime Museum in Bremerhaven – met for a joint on-site discussion. A particular focus was placed on testing the current version of the CompanionApp in the museum harbour. The Cultural Diversity team, which had played a key role in the app’s development as a group of experts, tested it extensively.
Afterwards, all participants had the opportunity to explore selected ships virtually using the museum’s VR headsets, thereby gaining new perspectives on maritime history. The afternoon concluded in a relaxed atmosphere with a meal together.
