Radical Playgrounds: From competition to collaboration An art trail at the Gropius Bau

The berlin festival's art trail opens on 27 April 2024. They have the opportunity to visit it until 14 July 2024.

Public space enables relationships between strangers - and not only connects us, but also reveals what divides us. Urban playgrounds are public spaces of particular importance, as the tensions between rules and open spaces are constantly being renegotiated here. Between the familiar and the unknown, boundaries and their transgression, the present and the future.

The School of Mutants

The installation "The School of Mutants" is a collaboration with Stella Flatten, which refers to the play with sand and the need to bring the hidden to light. It addresses the local colonial history and the activities of activists who dug at the site of the former Gestapo headquarters in the 1980s. The installation invites visitors to join in and is intended to be a place of non-conventional learning and unlearning.
