Dr. Jeremias Othman is Managing Director at the Haus der Wissenschaft Braunschweig. The House of Science stands for dialogue between science, society, business and culture. Its mission is to bring research and the spirit of research in the region to the public and to show society opportunities to participate in research. In addition to communicating scientific content, the main aim is to promote networking among scientific institutions and with the various social actors mentioned above. The most important goals here include the promotion and recruitment of young researchers, image building for the city and region, and knowledge and technology transfer.

This is achieved, among other things, through cooperation with partners such as the Leibniz Science Campus and the work of the HdW, which is also an experimental laboratory for event formats, i.e. it develops diverse concepts to make scientific content accessible to a broad audience in an innovative and creative way; always with the aim of promoting scientific, economic and cultural dialogue. Examples include the Science Slam: a short lecture tournament firmly inscribed in the DNA of the house and a very popular format, or the series "Ortswechsel" (Change of Place), which, funded by the City of Braunschweig, has been regularly inviting people to places that particularly embody Braunschweig as a location for business and innovation since 2021.
