Johannes Kup has been Professor of Didactics of Performing Arts at the Braunschweig University of Art since 2022. He studied political science, Romance studies and theatre pedagogy in Berlin and worked as a teacher and with the group OnElf in independent theatre projects after his traineeship. From 2012 to 2022, he was a research assistant at the Berlin University of the Arts, where he graduated in 2018 with the thesis "Das Theater der Teilhabe. On the discourse around participation in contemporary theatre pedagogy". In his research, he examines didactic concepts and practices of performing theatre from a power-critical perspective and works on their diversity-sensitive further development. Johannes Kup is co-editor of the journal "Schultheater. Perception - Design - Play".
