StäKo25 and RehearDig in the context of post-digital theatre education
As part of the collaborative degree programme in Performing Arts, the Institute for Performative Practice, Art and Education at the Braunschweig University of Art (HBK) and Leibniz University Hannover jointly organised this year's Permanent Conference on Play and Theatre at Universities 2025 (StäKo25) under the title ‘Theatre Education and Digitality’. The conference took place from 9 to 11 October 2025 at Leibniz University Hannover and was co-organised by Johannes Kup and Lukas Müller from the RehearDig project, among others.
The conference focused on theoretically grounded research contributions, practice-oriented perspectives, and interactive and artistic formats. The aim was to stimulate a multi-perspective discussion on how digital transformation processes influence, challenge and expand theatre education.
In the ‘Rehearsal’ panel, Lukas Müller also presented initial findings from his ethnographic rehearsal research as part of the RehearDig research project, providing insights into current research on post-digital theatre education rehearsal practices based on game theatre.
