Serious games for AI and privacy literacy in schools

The digital transformation is reshaping knowledge processes and social structures, with data and a reflective approach to its use playing a central role. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) enable the analysis of large volumes of data, the identification of patterns and the making of predictions, all of which influence decision-making processes and behaviour. Teachers have a dual role to play in this context. They must strike a balance between the diversity of the digital world on the one hand, and on the other hand ensure individual pedagogical agency against the backdrop of digital technologies and their impact on educational practice. This is where the interdisciplinary research project comes in, by examining teachers’ conceptions (imaginaries) regarding ML and AI and, in this context, assessing their awareness of data protection (privacy literacy).
